December 2004, Dubai. China Systems today announces the addition of Barclays Bank Africa and Middle East, to its growing list of customers who have acquired the new J2EE web-based Eximbills Enterprise and Customer Enterprise solutions.
Barclays has signed a contract with China Systems for the supply and implementation of our new Enterprise range of products, the latest solution offered by China Systems to the trade services industry, which is a Total Trade Finance Solution that meets the requirement of large regional processing centres while delivering innovative services to banks clients through web technology. The project sees the development of a hub that will be located in Johannesburg, which will support local processing centres in over 12 countries across Africa and the Middle East. Offering high – volume processing, advanced multi – entity and STP capabilities, Eximbills Enterprise thin client back – office solution together with Customer Enterprise, China Systems’ front end web-based solution will deliver trade finance functionality to bank customers over the Internet medium or through a bank’s Intranet technology, providing global automation of all trade services activities for banks, their branches and their customers.
Barclays Africa and Middle East has selected the Enterprise solutions of China Systems to increase income through offering a trade finance solution that will help reduce costs through a centralized back office system that improves processing efficiency. The Enterprise solution also provides automation to the trade finance front end system for enhancing the customer experience and delivery of information.
According to Lloyd Caughey, Head of Trade Finance for Barclays Africa and Middle East, “What is more, the system is easy to use and customers will have access to almost exactly what we have in the back office. This ensures greater control when conducting business internationally.” He further notes, “More importantly, it will certainly enhance our image as an innovative, customer – focused bank.”
With these packaged solutions, China Systems provides Barclays with its commitment to a dynamic parameterised system that requires no programming in meeting their customers evolving needs.
